A special day here on the estate today as we celebrate our lovely Tom’s 70th birthday with him, our font of all knowledge and master of everything. Tom started working in the Hambleden Valley in 1972, having previously worked for Captain Crosland at New Farm, Henley in 1968 and thereafter with George Bowden at Mill End Farm before joining us at Culden Faw in 2011. We are enormously grateful to Tom, as he continues to work his magic on and around our estate to this day, still as committed to his job now as he was when he started working the land in the valley over 49 years ago. Mr Tom Fermor, you are our very own Captain Tom – and, as such, we all salute you. Wishing you a very Happy 70th Birthday with Judy, your three children and four grandchildren – and here’s to sharing and celebrating many more happy ones with you.
